As Formula One grew in popularity during the 21st century, new automakers became interested in joining the sport. Cadillac was among them and announced the formation of a team in 2023. The Cadillac Formula 1 Team began competing during the 2026 season with Sergio Pérez and Valtteri Bottas as its drivers. The inaugural season has been rocky, with the best result so far being Bottas finishing 13th at the 2026 Chinese Grand Prix.
While there's not much to celebrate in terms of team performance at the finish line, Cadillac is honoring one of its drivers with a special-edition model. But the company is only making a handful of them, all of which will be sold south of the border.
Sergio Pérez is better known by his nickname Checo, and Cadillac is using that moniker for its Escalade-V Checo Pérez Edition. The driver is from Mexico and races using the number 11, so Caddy is limiting this version to just 11 units, exclusively for Mexico.
The Cadillac Escalade-V Checo Pérez Edition comes with a variety of special styling touches. The Escalade and V-Series emblems are black, and the Cadillac badge has a monochromatic color scheme. There's also illumination for the grille and door handles. The engine cover features an exposed carbon-fiber finish. The puddle lights project a V-Series graphic on the ground, and the interior features a set of sport pedals. The SUV rides on 24-inch wheels with a Satin Graphite finish. Buyers also get a welcome kit to accompany the special edition.
Each special-edition Escalade-V also comes with two plaques identifying the vehicle's production number out of the 11 examples and Pérez's signature. One of them is on the exterior B-pillar, and the other is on the interior center console.
Beyond these styling tweaks, the Cadillac Escalade-V Checo Pérez Edition is like any other version of this performance SUV. Power comes from a supercharged 6.2-liter V8 that makes 682 horsepower and 653 pound-feet of torque. A 10-speed automatic transmission sends the output to an all-wheel-drive system with an electronic limited-slip differential. It rides on General Motors’ Magnetic Ride Control adaptive suspension and features six-piston Brembo front brakes.
Even the performance-oriented V model is still an Escalade, so it needs luxury to complement the speed. The special-edition models come standard with the 55-inch curved pillar-to-pillar screen with a multicolor head-up display. The occupants can enjoy music from a 36-speaker AKG Studio Reference stereo. The advanced driving assistance systems include a 360-degree camera system, parking assist, front pedestrian and cyclist detection, rear pedestrian detection, cross-traffic alert, and braking assistance.
The second row also comes with executive seats that feature heating, ventilation, six-way adjustment, lumbar massage, and folding trays. These occupants also get a pair of 12.6-inch screens.
Some unique badges and trim pieces barely seem like enough to justify an 11-unit special edition. However, there are some hardcore F1 fans out there, and such a small production run means that Cadillac isn't taking too big of a gamble with the Checo Pérez Edition.
The 11 examples of the Cadillac Escalade-V Checo Pérez Edition are available to order in Mexico as of October 20, 2026. They cost 4,099,000 Mexican pesos ($220,510 at current exchange rates). For comparison, the regular model begins at 3,847,500 Mexican pesos ($206,980). In the US, the Escalade-V begins at $124,700 (before a $2,895 destination fee).
